The Liaison Agency Flanders - Europe kindly invites you to a seminar on "the European Single Market Act". The seminar will take place on Thursday, November 25th 2010, from 10:00 till 12:00 and will be followed by a networking lunch at the Vleva premises at Kortenberglaan 71, 1000 Brussels.
The single market for goods, services, persons and capital is one of Europe's main competitive advantages. Its further deepening and development will be one of Europe's best sources for equitable and sustainable economic growth. The Single Market Act which was launched by the European Commission on October 27th is the culmination of both President Barroso's announcement in September 2009 of his intention to re-launch the Single Market, as well as the Monti Report which outlined a package of initiatives to strengthen the Single Market.
The Single Market Act outlines 50 measures. The European Commission will prioritize actions to be put into place by 2012, the year of the 20th anniversary of the Single Market. In addition, the European Commission also presented the "EU Citizenship Report" consisting of concrete solutions ensuring that European citizens can fully exercise their freedom of movement.
During the seminar, the European Commission will present these measures. The presentation will be followed by a critical reflexion of representatives of both Eurochambres and UEAPME (TBC).
