On the 3rd of July 2012, European Confederation of Local Intermediate Authorities – CEPLI organises the conference "Local Democracy - the heart of the multilevel governance" in co-operation with the Committee of the Regions and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe.

The future of the decentralization in a Europe changing continuously after the Lisbon Treaty raises the question of the role of Local Authorities in the governance process.

The choices made at different levels of our territories have an impact on the policies we are offering to our citizens and represent an important challenge for the future of Local Intermediate Authorities and their competences.

This event is aimed at deepening the debate on issues the challenges faced by Local Intermediate Authorities and on joint proposals we could bring out at national and European level.
