With the modern day students looking to be able to learn wherever or whenever they want the discussion on the merits of E-learning will always be raised.
The European 2020 strategy highlights important trends, which will lead to a substantial transformation in education and training to address new skills for new jobs.
In this respect, e-learning has many assets to offer to reinforce and make more accessible educational and training modules. Teachers might soon be asked to become mediators between students, knowledge and technology while internet-based social networking will be a complimentary element to virtual classes. The event aims at sharing best practices on elearning projects across Europe with a particular emphasis on mobility, quality standards, teachers’ training and games.

European Schoolnet, a network of 31 ministries of education, aims to promote innovation in education. Roger Blamire, will present the working of European Schoolnet and some of its projects.
Godelieve Van den Brande, Senior Policy Officer "ICT in learning" at DG EAC, European Commission will discuss the strategy of the European Commission and the importance for e-learning in the future.

The event is organised by the Government of Catalonia Brussels Office, Kent Brussels Office , Paris/Ile-de-France Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Scotland Europa and the Liaison-Agency Flanders-Europe (VLEVA).
