Belgian development aid 13 percent down, UN report states

The Belgian financial aid to developing countries saw a 13 percent drop last year. That's according to a report compiled by the United Nations. The Belgian drop is more outspoken than the average 3 percent decrease that applies to western countries.

23/09/12 - In Ranst (Antwerp province) a heavy fire has destroyed the stables of the Belgian rider James Peeters. A big lorry to carry the horses, a smaller lorry and a tractor were also destroyed. The race horses in the stables could be evacuated in time.

23/09/12 - This weekend, Belgians across the country are singing to highlight climate change. The Belgian film maker Nick Balthazar took the initiative for the project, which should raise the pressure on the political leaders to tackle climate change. The aim is to have 24,000 people singing the song "Do it now" live, after which Nick Balthazar will compile a video. This footage was taken in the city of Ghent on Saturday afternoon.
